SECRET 3
November 8
A Place of 2nd Chances

2. Harland David Sanders
Perhaps better known as Colonel Sanders of Kentucky Fried Chicken fame, Sanders had a hard time selling his chicken at first. In fact, his famous secret chicken recipe was rejected 1,009 times before a restaurant accepted it.
3. Peter
1st mile: he had revelation that Jesus was the Christ
Walked on water..
He was a witness of the Transfiguration…
First mile going good until he cut the ear off roman soldier and denied Christ three times
Acts 1:12-16
12 Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day's journey.
13 And when they had entered, they went up into the upper room where they were staying: Peter, James, John, and Andrew; Philip and Thomas; Bartholomew and Matthew; James the son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot; and Judas the son of James.
14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.
15 And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples (altogether the number of names was about a hundred and twenty), and said,16 “Brothers, the Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke beforehand by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus.
The 2nd Mile is a place of 2nd Chances
God gives second chances
Peter was willing to go the second mile, he'd grown from his first mile mistakes
4. Jonah
Jonah’s first mile mistake was a whopper!
He went the second mile to correct the mistakes of his 1st
You and I are no different than Peter and Jonah...
We are going to make mistakes
But we have to be willing to go the second mile in order to correct them.
Sometimes the 2nd mile not only means to get a 2nd chance but to extend a 2nd chance to others around us…. Failure is part of being human.
Conclusions:
If you are frustrated ...making the same mistakes over and over, it's time to take an honest look....
Learn.... Repent... Change
Are you seeking God or the second chance?
Are you seeking success more than God?
Here a great idea.... Surrender your second mile to God.
Your greatest success...happiness in the second mile, will be found in God and His will for your life.
What have you learned from your mistakes in the first mile?
